GI-Bill Class for veterans in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota

We get requests each year from veterans in Minnesota to do a captains class using their education benefits. Under federal law we can not do a class out of Wisconsin and have it be covered.

What we have done is to schedule a class in New Richmond, WI which is a short distant from Minnesota Twin cities, off Hwy 64.

Class is open to anyone. We are trying to meet the requested needs of our veterans as well.

Please let any Veteran or veteran group now about this opportunity.

Yes the class is open to anyone.

Important NOTE an NMC Applications

We have been told in the past that the old forms would be accepted until the end of the 2018. However we just found out they MUST of been signed by September 1, 2018. The medical and the application have others signing or notarizing them. The date can not be forged.

So if you have the old forms and they have not been dated before Sept 1, 2018. They can not be used.

LED Lights are causing radio interference

Radio frequency interference caused by these LED lamps was found to create potential safety hazards. The Coast Guard issued a Marine Safety Alert in August indicating LED can cause interference with both VHF radio and with AIS.

It was documented to cause problem with distress calls.. Here is a link to the article. https://mariners.coastguard.dodlive.mil/2018/08/16/8-16-2018-marine-safety-alert-potential-interference-of-vhf-fm-radio-and-ais-reception/

While we are on the topic, just a reminder blue colored LED's. can not be used. Only law enforcement can show blue. They have issued tickets to boaters with blue led's.
