Event description:

Do to demand we are adding one more class for this spring season. However to meet ours and you needs we been to schedule 8 to 5 on Friday/Saturday/Sunday for two weeks. The class is also split due to Easter. If you need your license this spring/early summer, it is important to get your application completed and sent in ASAP. It should be done before the class if possible.

Date: April 12,13,14 26, 27, 28, 2019

Class Fee: $695 Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal.  Includes all instruction, course materials (student manuals, plotting tools, charts, Rules book) and exams. 

 

Payment Options: by Credit card or check. Payment in full require 7 days before class start date

Location: Explorers Guide Maritime Academy at our new office at 611 N. Lynndale Ave, Suite 125, Grand Chute, WI 54914. East of I-41 on College Ave., then north on Lynndale, across from Grainger. Use the back entrance. We are on the first floor.

 

Hours:  This is a 52 hr class over two weekends. Classes run Thursdays and Fridays 8 to 5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am to 5 pm for 2 consecutive weekends. Final exams given on last day, Sunday April 28, 2019 Come prepared to spend time on the class as we need to cover all the materials.

Topics: Captain Gary will cover Piloting, Marlinspike Seamanship, Navigation Rules, Magnetic Compass, Characteristics of Weather, Tides and Currents, Vessel Maneuvering and Handling, Small Engine Operations and Maintenance, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Emergency Procedures, Maritime Law, Shipboard Management and Training, Ship’s Business, Communications, and Lifesaving Appliances.

Captain Gary will also answer any questions you have about your license application, so bring your documents with you on the first day of class.
