Event description:

Caption David Wilson will be delivering a Explorers Guide Maritime Academy  OUPV Inland/Great Lakes Starting April 5, 2024 in Brookfield, IL

 

OUPV Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal Dates are April 5,6,7 and 12,13,14 - 2024

 

 Class Fee: $775 Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal.  Includes all instruction, course materials (student manuals, use of plotting tools, charts, Rules book) and Exams.

 

Drug Test throught Quest Labs is offered during the class. Results normally are available within 48 hrs. Cost $75

First Aid/CPR will be offered as an online course with Skills checkout during the class, Cost is $73. Card is proved after skills checkout.. (Skills check is completed on the last Saturday)

 

 Payment Options: by Credit card or Cash. Payment in full require 7 days before class start date.

 Hours:  This is a 54 hr class over two weekends. Classes run  in person on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am to 5:30 pm for 2 consecutive weekends. Final exams given on last Sunday after class. Come prepared to spend time on the class as we need to cover all the material.

 Instructors: Capt David WIlson is the lead instructor 

Topics: covered  include Piloting, Marlinspike Seamanship, Navigation Rules, Magnetic Compass, Characteristics of Weather, Tides and Currents, Vessel Maneuvering and Handling, Small Engine Operations and Maintenance, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Emergency Procedures, Maritime Law, Shipboard Management and Training, Ship’s Business, Communications, and Lifesaving Appliances

The OUPV credential requires 360 days of sea service from the age of 16.

Important:  The First Set Of Exams Is Included In The Course Fee.  If You Are Required To Re-take Any Of The Exams, They Will Be Given In Plainfield, IL and A $45 Proctor Fee Per Student, Per session Will Be Assessed.
