Class Fee: $835 Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal.  Includes instruction, course materials, student manuals, charts, Rules book, and Exams.

Plotting Tool Information

Plotting tools, including a parallel ruler and dividers, are required to complete this course. If you do not already have these tools, you may purchase them from us. While you may acquire these tools from any vendor, they are required for participation.

If you'd like to purchase them through us, just choose the "Deposit and plotting tool purchase" option when you check out. We'll send them directly to you. To ensure timely delivery, deposit and tool purchase must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of class. We will ship the tools directly to you.  "Please be advised that the $105 deposit does not cover the purchase price of the tools. These are two distinct charges."

Drug Test throught Quest Labs is offered during the class. Results normally are available within 48 hrs. 

 Payment Options: by Credit card or cash. Payment in full require 7 days before class start date.

 Hours:  This is a class over two weekends. Classes run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am to 5:30 pm for 2 consecutive weekends. Final exams given on last Sunday. Come prepared to spend time on the class as we need to cover all the material.

Instructors: Capt David WIlson is the lead instructor with assistance as time permits from Capt Gary.

Topics: covered  include Piloting, Marlinspike Seamanship, Navigation Rules, Magnetic Compass, Characteristics of Weather, Tides and Currents, Vessel Maneuvering and Handling, Small Engine Operations and Maintenance, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Emergency Procedures, Maritime Law, Shipboard Management and Training, Ship’s Business, Communications, and Lifesaving Appliances

The first set of exams is included in the course.  If a re-test is needed, there is a $50 proctor fee per student, per session.  You may test at any of our scheduled courses for no fee.
