Class Fee: $695 Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal. Includes all instruction, course materials (student manuals, plotting tools, charts, Rules book) and exams.

Location: DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton, 150 S. Nicolet Rd, Appleton, WI 54914. Conveniently located at US Hwy 41 and College Ave in Appleton. We have a block of rooms reserved for students coming from a distance, $89 per night. Ask for Captains Class rates; phone 920-735-9955. Newly renovated, the hotel offers an indoor pool and whirlpool, restaurant, bar, fitness center, high speed internet, warm chocolate chip cookies.
Hours: This is a 52 hr class over two weekends. Classes run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am to 5 pm for 2 consecutive weekends. Final exams given on last Sunday. Come prepared to spend time on the class as we need to cover all the materials.
Topics: Captain Gary will cover Piloting, Marlinspike Seamanship, Navigation Rules, Magnetic Compass, Characteristics of Weather, Tides and Currents, Vessel Maneuvering and Handling, Small Engine Operations and Maintenance, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Emergency Procedures, Maritime Law, Shipboard Management and Training, Ship’s Business, Communications, and Lifesaving Appliances
Master Classes starts the following weekend on Ocy 11-13,2019.
This is a combined class, including Upgrade To Master 100 Ton Inland, Great Lakes; Upgrade To Master 100 Tons Near Coastal; and Increase in Scope from Inland to Near Coastal Routes. We are able to offer all three courses at the same time as a number of lessons overlap. Friday evening and early Saturday are for the Increase in Scope and Near Coastal. The rest of the lessons are for both Inland/Great Lakes and Near Coastal Waters.
Captain Gary will also answer any questions you have about your license application, so bring your documents with you on the first day of class.
