Also known as PedFACTs, this course is designed to give caregivers and teachers the education and confidence that they need to care effectively for sick or injured children. Each emergency topic is divided into three sections:

•What You Should Know: Provides background information.

•What You Should Look For: Provides assessment information.

•What You Should Do: Provides first aid treatment information.

The PedFACTs course also covers the “4Cs of Pediatric First Aid” help focus providers on the steps they need to take to safely manage emergencies: Check, Call, Care, and Complete.

Participants are given instruction in CPR and Choking Relief, as well as in Medication Administration. The instructor will demonstrate these skills, then evaluate participants’ technique.

Time:

This is a 5 hour course. You will be given a 30 minute break for lunch.

Fee:

The $65.00 fee for this course includes classroom instruction, skills check, and 2-year certification card.
